Fall Food

Well - today is momentous.  I finally got the internet.  I have jumped right in to the 21st century.  Not that I got cable TV....one step at a time.

But now I can post at home instead of waiting until my lunch hour at work.  I am suprisingly excited about having the internet.  You would think I would have done it earlier...but alas, one must prioritize spending, and the internet wasn't high on my list.

So....to the eating....

I have been quite good recently with the exception of coffee (cream and sugar twice this week).  My office mate and I have gotten into the bad habit of going out for a 10:30 coffee run. I am hoping to stop that because not only do I want to avoid that sugar, but I can't afford it now that I have the internet bill to pay.

For breakfast I hve been having quinoa with raisins and cinnamon.  I make a big pot on Sunday and just take a serving out of it each morning and heat it up with a little milk.  By Thursday, it's all gone so I make another pot.  It's working out quite well (except for the batch I burnt to hell on Monday)

For lunch, on the days I work, I am religious about salads recently.  I grilled up 2-3 chicken breasts over the weekend and have them ready to go for protein in the salad.  I also have all sorts of veggies.  I aim for 3 colors of veggies in each salad (usually 3 colors of peppers or tomatoes).  On the days that I am at home, I wat whatever I have on hand.  No flour, no sugar.

For dinner, so far this week I have had a super duper roast beef dinner (thank you Kristin), cassouslet and home made pasta sauce with turkey meatballs, sausage, mushrooms, and onions.  No pasta, I just like the sauce.  I have also been eating a lot of broccoli.  Charlotte seems to like it and if we find something she will eat....I serve a lot of it.  Unfortunately, she likes it mushy.  Score one for Grandpa.

Grapes have been a snack as well as plain yogurt and honey.  Always the honey.
